This works out well for me with our Husqvarna-Viking VIP 6.0. This uses the REGEDIT.EXE program to edit your registry, so you should back up your computer and registry prior to doing this (see other tip for backing up registry). This is somewhat long, so bear with it, but you will be able to add Husqvarna Cross Stitch, Embird, etc. to your Application bar. Illustrations are from my Windows 2000 Professional and D.M.'s Windows XP Home systems, but should work just fine for Windows 98 or Windows XP Professional also.
1. From your computer's desktop, left-click Start.

2. From your menu, left-click on Run.

3. A window titled Run should pop up.

4. Type regedit in the box.
Press Enter or left-click OK.
5. The Registry Editor (Regedit) will start. Yours may be expanded, or look slightly different. That's OK.

6. Within Regedit, find the top/first level folder called HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE and left-click on the plus sign (+)to its left.

7. Within HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, find the folder called Software and left-click on the plus sign (+) to its left.

8. Within Software, find the folder called Viking-Emnet and left-click on the plus sign (+) to its left.

9. Within Viking-Emnet, find the folder called 6.0 and left-click on the plus sign (+) to its left.

The Viking-Emnet 6.0 folder should expand and have at least 3 subfolders: ApplicationName, ApplicationPath, and Information (as illustrated below).

OK, Now we're ready to start editing.
The keys we want to deal with are ApplicationName and ApplicationPath. If you left-click on ApplicationName you should see:

And if you left-click on ApplicationPath you should see:

Yours will be slightly different. That's OK. We've already added things to our bar, as you may be able to see. Now on to Step 10.
10. Left-click on ApplicationName in the left panel. You should see a list of items in the right panel of Regedit that are VIP01, VIP02, VIPxx, etc. We are going to right-click on ApplicationName and select New which will expand. Then left click on String Value as illustrated below.

11. We should see a new item in the right panel of Regedit that is called New Value #1. You are going to rename it. Type VIP66 and press Enter. If you click outside the window and lose the ability to rename, you can right-click on New Value #1 and select Rename.

12. Right click on VIP66 and select Modify. Type in the name of the program you are adding (e.g., Cross Stitch, Embird, etc.) and press OK.

13. Left-click on ApplicationPath in the left panel. You should see a list of items in the right panel of Regedit that are VIP01, VIP02, VIPxx, etc. You are going to right-click on ApplicationPath and select New which will expand. Then left click on String Value as illustrated above under step #10 for ApplicationName.
14. We should see a new item in the right panel of Regedit that is called New Value #1. We are going to rename it. Type VIP66 and press Enter. If you click outside the window and lose the ability to rename, you can right-click on New Value #1 and select Rename. This is just like Step #11 above for ApplicationName.
15. Right click on VIP66 and select Modify. Type in the full path to and name of the program you are adding (e.g., Embird is usually at C:\EMBIRD32\EMBIRD.EXE) and press OK.

That's IT! You will need to close Regedit, and close the Husqvarna Application Bar by right-clicking and selecting Exit. Re-open your Application Bar, and ta-dah, you should see your new button! There appears to be a limit of 21 buttons you can have on the bar, but any program can be added (although if the executable has no Icon embedded, you will see no icon in the bar and have blank squares that launch programs).
